New tools, new challenges

Development of digital catalogs

Challenge

A special project, since a proposal was made for a support tool for store clerks, which consisted of providing a new vision in the consultation and booking of trips.

The main objective was: How can we help sales clerks to facilitate their sales work?
It was an agile project in its proposal.
My participation in the project was to coordinate and organize the information gathered in the research so that later we could move on to the UI structure and design phase.

Interview Stakeholders
Although the client was looking to minimize its logistical problems by printing hundreds and hundreds of catalogs and distributing them to all its points of sale, we could not overlook the main players, "the sales clerks".
Sales clerk profile
Through interviews, the objective was to find out how they would like to make the transition from paper to digital format.
To know what their biggest fears were with this kind of change.
If they imagined in any special way what this new form of consultation would be like.
Also to know how reluctant they might be to change.

Contextual - Ethnographic study
After the experts told us about their needs and fears among other things, it was decided to find out what their work was like on a day-to-day basis, hence for several days we collected information in person about how the whole process of information, booking and sale of the contracted service was.
Objectives:
One of the objectives was to understand the process in order to be able to provide new complementary formulas.
To find proposals that could make up for or compensate for the fears mentioned by the employees.
Sketches

UI Design

After a low-fi test, a design was made that covered several objectives.

The initial idea was to make a soft transition

  • The corporate guidelines were used for the design.
It was decided in the initial phase to give more weight to editorial content.
The design was accompanied by a speech style for the clerk, thus helping to cover those fears of how to interact with a new device during information and sales.
The intention was to make speeches more relaxed, so that customers and clerks would not sit face to face to make a simple transaction.
And with tablets, this freedom of being able to attend to customers anywhere in the store and print only what was necessary on paper was achieved.

a solution that reduces costs just by listening to dependents

The protagonists gave us the key
From a problem posed by the customer, we came up with a solution that changed the way of interaction between the clerk and the end customer.
The clerk is freed from handling several dozen printed catalogs.
He was also given more freedom to serve customers in a relaxed manner.
This led to the creation of a new service protocol.
A solution that was not only in the device but also in the environment.
And the customer put an end to one of its biggest problems, which was the logistics of several printed paper catalogs.
